Penrith Tae Kwon Do has closed

Unfortunately due to poor attendance I have had no alternative but to close the club in Penrith
It is sad that it has come to this as the club was started in April 2004 but over the last year it has been declining to a point where it is no longer viable.

Alternative training is available at the club in Kirkby Stephen

Success at GTUK British Championships

Success at GTUK British Championships

On Saturday 26th October several students from the North West clubs travelled to Coventry in the West Midlands for the UK Individual and Black Belt Team Championships

The day was very good for us as two of the students excelled in their respective competitions

Fraser Nicolson from Penrith won Gold medals in both sparring and patterns.  He has been training since he was 8 years old and has been trying to win both for several competitions.  It is a great achievement for a 12 year old.
Robbie Wells is a member of the Morecambe club, won Gold in sparring, patterns, special technique and a bronze in the team event.  It was amazing to see a 17 year old jump and kick boards at a height of 2.6 metres
Both Robbie and Fraser are members of the GTUK national team and regularly attend squad training to prepare themselves for these events.
Robbie recently won a Gold medal at the UITF world championships in London as well.
Abi Wells (Robbie’s sister) won bronze in sparring and patterns.
Dan Fishwick won bronze in sparring and silver in patterns.
James Wilbye from Kirkby Stephen won bronze in sparring but was unlucky in the patterns

Well done to you all

Coloured Belt Grading Sheets

I have added all the Grading syllabus sheets to our FaceBook Group.

If you are not a member of the group you need to search for ‘GTUK North West’ on FaceBook and then apply to be a member.

The Syllabus sheets are available if you click the ‘Files’ link

They are only available on a computer as it seems the ‘Files’ link isn’t available if you are running an app on your phone
