3 Step Sparring (Sambo Matsoki)

General Points to start…….

The attacker steps forward three times in a walking stance. The defender steps back three times in a walking stance. The pattern of the feet should go, attackers foot outside, inside, outside.
Line up by crossing the toes, then go back into left walking stance low block.
Attacker Kihaps when ready to attack, the defender then kihaps when ready.

Number 1 – At Yellow Tag

Attacker: steps forward into right walking stance obverse middle punch.

Defender: steps back into a left walking stance performing a middle inside inner forearm block with the left hand.

Attacker: Steps forward into a left walking stance middle obverse punch.

Defender: steps back into a right walking stance performing a middle inside inner forearm block with the right hand.

Attacker: Steps forward into a right walking stance middle obverse punch.

Defender: Steps back into a left walking stance performing a middle inside inner forearm block with the left hand. Counters with a reverse punch with the right hand to the point of the chin. Kihap (shout) on this punch.

Number 2 – At Yellow Belt

Attacker lines up by placing the ball of his or her right foot on the opponent’s belt, then putting the leg behind forming a left walking stance low outer forearm block.

Attacker: Steps forward performing a low right front snap kick, landing in walking stance twin twin low section block.

Defender: Steps backwards to form a left walking stance whilst performing a low obverse knifehand block.

Attacker: Steps forward performing a low left front snap kick, landing in walking stance twin low section block.

Defender: Steps backwards to form a right walking stance whilst performing a low obverse knifehand block.

Attacker: Steps forward performing a low right front snap kick, landing in walking stance twin low section block.

Defender: Steps backwards to form a left walking stance whilst performing a low obverse knifehand block. Counter with a low front snap kick from the front leg, put the kicking leg behind you into a left L-stance guarding block. Kihap on the kick.

The attacker steps forward three times in a walking stance.The defender steps back three times in a walking stance.
The pattern of the feet should go, attackers foot outside, inside, outside.

Attacker Kihaps when ready to attack, the defender then kihaps when ready.

Number 1 – At White Belt

Attacker: steps forward into right walking stance obverse middle punch.
Defender: steps back into a left walking stance performing a middle inner forearm block with the left hand.

Attacker: Steps forward into a left walking stance middle obverse punch.
Defender: steps back into a right walking stance performing a middle inner forearm block with the right hand.

Attacker: Steps forward into a right walking stance middle obverse punch.
Defender: Steps back into a left walking stance performing a middle inner forearm block with the left hand.

Counter with a reverse punch with the right hand to the point of chin

Number 2 – At Yellow Tag

Defender: Steps backwards to form a left walking stance whilst performing a low obverse knifehand block.

Counter with a low front snap kick from the front leg, put the kicking leg behind you into a left L-stance guarding block. Kihap on the kick.

Number 3 – At Yellow Belt

Attacker: steps forward into right walking stance obverse middle punch.
Defender: steps back with left leg into a sitting stance performing a middle inward forearm block with the right hand.

Attacker: steps forward into left walking stance obverse middle punch.
Defender: steps back with right leg into a sitting stance performing a middle inward forearm block with the left hand.

Attacker: steps forward into right walking stance obverse middle punch.
Defender: steps back with left leg into a sitting stance performing a middle inward forearm block with the right hand.

Counter with a high back fist strike to the temple

Number 4 – At Green Tag

Attacker: steps forward into right walking stance obverse middle punch
Defender: steps back with left leg into a sitting stance performing a middle inward forearm block with the right hand.

Attacker: steps forward into left walking stance obverse middle punch.
Defender: steps back with right leg into a sitting stance performing a middle inward forearm block with the left hand.

Attacker: steps forward into right walking stance obverse middle punch.
Defender: steps back with left leg into a sitting stance performing a middle inward forearm block with the right hand.

Counter Bring your front (right) foot halfway into the stance (towards the left foot), then pivot on that right foot in an anti-clockwise direction to form a right fixed stance, performing a back elbow thrust with the left elbow to the solar plexus, (Gojung so wen dwit palkup tulgi). Kihap on the elbow

Number 5 – At Green Belt

Attacker: steps forward into right walking stance obverse middle punch.
Defender: Slide backwards on the 45 degree angle to your right assuming a right L-stance forearm guarding block

Attacker: steps forward into left walking stance obverse middle punch.
Defender: Slide backwards on the 45 degree angle to your left assuming a left L-stance forearm guarding block

Attacker: steps forward into right walking stance obverse middle punch.
Defender: backwards on the 45 degree angle to your right assuming a right L-stance forearm guarding block

Counter Execute a low front snap kick with the right leg to the lower abdomen landing in a right walking stance. On landing perform obverse then reverse punches to the point of the chin. Kihap on the last punch

Number 6 – At Blue Tag

Attacker: steps forward into right walking stance obverse middle punch.
Defender: Slide backwards on the 45 degree angle to your right assuming a right L-stance forearm guarding block

Attacker: steps forward into left walking stance obverse middle punch.
Defender: Slide backwards on the 45 degree angle to your left assuming a left L-stance forearm guarding block

Attacker: steps forward into right walking stance obverse middle punch.
Defender: Slide backwards on the 45 degree angle to your right assuming a right L-stance forearm guarding block

Counter Execute a side kick with the right leg to the Solar Plexus landing in a left L stance. On landing perform obverse then knife hand strike to the side of the neck. Kihap on the strike

Number 7 – At Blue Belt

Attacker: steps forward into right walking stance obverse middle punch.
Defender: Slide backwards on the 45 degree angle to your right assuming a right L-stance forearm guarding block

Attacker: steps forward into left walking stance obverse middle punch.
Defender: Slide backwards on the 45 degree angle to your left assuming a left L-stance forearm guarding block

Attacker: steps forward into right walking stance obverse middle punch.
Defender: backwards on the 45 degree angle to your right assuming a right L-stance forearm guarding block

Counter with a high flying front kick to the jaw. Kihap on the kick.

Number 8 – At Red Tag

Attacker: steps forward into right walking stance obverse middle punch.

Defender: Slide backwards on the 45 degree angle to your right assuming a right L-stance forearm guarding block

Attacker: steps forward into left walking stance obverse middle punch.
Defender: Slide backwards on the 45 degree angle to your left assuming a left L-stance forearm guarding block

Attacker: steps forward into right walking stance obverse middle punch.
Defender: Slide backwards on the 45 degree angle to your right assuming a right L-stance forearm guarding block

Counter with a high flying side piercing kick to the bridge of the nose. Kihap on the kick.

Number 9 – At Red Belt

Attacker: steps forward into right walking stance obverse middle punch.
Defender: Slide backwards on the 45 degree angle to your right assuming a right L-stance forearm guarding block

Attacker: steps forward into left walking stance obverse middle punch.
Defender: Slide backwards on the 45 degree angle to your left assuming a left L-stance forearm guarding block

Attacker: steps forward into right walking stance obverse middle punch.
Defender: backwards on the 45 degree angle to your right assuming a right L-stance forearm guarding block

Counter with a high flying turning kick to the eyeball. Kihap on the kick.
